Most N95 respirators masks are manufactured for use in construction and other industrial work exposing workers to dust and other industries. The seed is regulated by the National Laboratory of Personal Protection Technology (NPPTL) at the National Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH), part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These products are labeled “For Professional Use.”
However, some N95 respirators masks are designed for use in healthcare environments. Specifically, disposable, disposable respiratory protective devices used and worn by health care workers during the process protect both patients and medical personnel from the transmission of microorganisms, body fluids, and particulate material.
These N95 respirators masks are FDA-regulated Class II devices, below 21 CFR 878.4040 and CDC NIOSH. Under certain conditions and limitations, the N95 is regulated under product code MSH exempt from prior marketing notice 510 (k). FDA has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CDC NIOSH, which outlines the framework of coordination and cooperation between FDA and NIOSH to regulate this N95 mask set.
General respiratory prevention N95
People with chronic respiratory disease, heart, or other medical conditions that cause difficulty breathing should check with their healthcare provider before using an N95 respirator because of their face. N95 masks can make it harder for the wearer to breathe.
Some models have exhalation valves that can make exhalation easier and help reduce heat build-up. Note that N95 respirator must not be used when sterile conditions must be maintained.
All N95 respirators masks cleared by the FDA are labeled “one-time-use“, disposable devices. If your respirator is damaged or dirty, or if breathing becomes difficult, you should remove the respirator, dispose of it properly and replace it with a new one.
To safely remove your N95 mask, put it in a plastic bag and throw it in the trash. Wash hands after using the used respirator.

P95 Mask
Most commonly used to work in environments exposed to oil-based particles, the P95 respirator face mask is NIOSH-approved for 95% filtration efficiency on oil-based and oil-free particles. Filter & Cartridges
Used in conjunction with full-face masks or half-sided masks, filters and cartridges are used in a more secure place suitable for users. Unlike disposable masks that only filter dust particles in the air, the cartridge can filter out particulate hazards, from slightly organic to chlorine and slightly spicy.
